Projects I’m Working On

Hey there! I hope all of you have been having a great New Year so far! Mine has been nothing short of awesome. MOST of the Christmas decorations are down and the tree is finally on the curb!

TreeMost of the decorations were taken down last weekend, but the tree had been sitting (standing) in our living room until last night. The boxes of Christmas decorations aren’t exactly in the attic yet, but let’s pretend they are. =]

Hubs got me a “Learn to Crochet” book for Christmas so guess what I’ve been doing?? =] Here are some of the things I’ve been working on:

Red White and BlueThat’s the first scarf I’ve EVER crocheted. I love it! It’s not perfect, but I love it. You can tell in the exact middle top of the first picture that my lines aren’t exactly straight (that’s where I had to add in another ball of yarn and it wasn’t quite even) but I kept going anyway. It’s my very first scarf ever so I love it even in its un-perfectness. You probably won’t be able to tell when I’m wearing it anyway! What did I learn from this project? Don’t get yarn that has different colors in it UNLESS the different colors are throughout the whole scarf – like this…

Red ScarfSee how that has color variations throughout the whole thing? I spent a little more money on this scarf and it is SOOO soft. I’m thinking about starting an Etsy shop but I feel kind of overwhelmed about all of the collecting taxes, DBA, tax account, etc. Anybody want to help me figure it out? =]

I’m also working on another scarf that I just love to pieces right now, but I don’t have a picture of it. It’s varying colors of blue, white, and beige (think beach theme) and it’s ruffly. It’s so fun and girly!

In other news:

Wednesday is my birthday! And look what my dad sent me in the mail…

KindleA Kindle! I’m so excited. It’s just the basic model but that’s all I wanted. I didn’t necessarily need the internet. Unfortunately I do know the difference between want and need. =] I just wanted something compact that I could read tons of books on. I love it! Thanks dad! And the case is really nice. Love love love. The first book I downloaded was The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

I’m going to go read now. Bye! =]

Oh, P.S./by the way – Hubs got the pin taken out of his hand! He’s still in some pain and his thumb is very tight, but he’s doing hand exercises and hopefully he’ll be back to business as usual soon! =]
